Before practicing law, Matthew J. Matechik spent nearly a decade as an intelligence officer in the Washington, DC area, then returned to his native Florida and opened this Sarasota firm on Wallace Avenue. The Matechik Law Firm, P.A. works on probate, estate planning, guardianship and durable powers of attorney.

Clients come mainly from Sarasota and Manatee counties, and the firm also works elsewhere in Florida. Appointments are required, and they can be held at the office, by phone or over Zoom.

The firm states that Mr. Matechik is licensed in Florida and admitted before the United States Supreme Court. It also states that he has chaired the Sarasota County Bar Association's Elder Law Section and belongs to the Florida State Guardianship Association and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
